an airbag panel having an inflatable member disposed within a cavity defined between an inner reaction plate and an outer panel; and at least one pre-tensioned reinforcing band within at least a portion of the airbag panel and including a plurality of glass fibers, each of the plurality of glass fibers being individually encased within an outer coating layer and set in a substantially parallel configuration.
