A boring, drilling or tapping-machine comprises a rotatable table 7 which can be locked in any position, and a spindle-head 1 or tablesupport which is also rotatable to cause the spindle to sweep the bed. A drilling-machinequill 26 is fed by a capstan 4, or automatically, in a head 1 locked in position on a pillar 2 by a clamp 3. The pillar 2 is rotatable in bearings 5, 6 and can be clamped by a handle 18 through discs 19, 12a, or by a handle 16 through discs 17, 12a. The handle 16 also clamps the table 7 in position through discs 17, 12. An indexing- wheel 20 is attached to the table 7 and is associated with a hand-operated indexing- plunger. The table may be rotated automatically by means associated with the movements of the spindle 24. In a modification, the table rotates on a support swinging about an axis spaced from the pillar. A machine may have several spindles which can operate simultaneously. |
