PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical access network capable of speedily recovering a communication by detecting a communication fault caused by a failure of a wavelength variable optical transceiver of an ONU.SOLUTION: The optical access network includes: an OLT including a plurality of OSUs; and a plurality of ONUs connected with the OLT via optical transmission lines. Different wavelengths are allocated to the plurality of OSUs. Each OSU includes: an uplink communication status monitoring section which monitors an uplink communication status for each of registered ONUs on the basis of an inputted uplink signal; and a downlink communication fault information extraction section for extracting information on a downlink communication status that is sent from the registered ONU. Each of the ONUs includes a downlink communication status monitoring section which monitors a downlink communication status on the basis of an inputted downlink signal, and transmits the downlink communication status to the OSU that is a destination of registration. On the basis of the uplink communication status and the downlink communication status, the OLT detects an uplink communication fault and a downlink communication fault.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
