PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle rotation detection device which makes quick detection of rotation of a vehicle upon collision possible.SOLUTION: A right pillar acceleration sensor 3a for detecting longitudinal acceleration Rx is attached to a center pillar of a right side part of a vehicle. Further, a left pillar acceleration sensor 3b for detecting longitudinal acceleration Lx is attached to a center pillar of a left side part of the vehicle. An acceleration input part 4b of a controller 4 calculates integrated acceleration values ∫Rx, ∫Lx from detection values of the respective pillar acceleration sensors 3a, 3b. When one side of the calculated integrated acceleration values ∫Rx, ∫Lx is acceleration threshold Rx+, Lx+ or more and an absolute value of the other side is an absolute value of acceleration threshold Rx-, Lx- or more, a vehicle rotation detection part 4i determines that a vehicle 7 rotates due to collision.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
