PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure a sealability of an oil seal and assure an abrasion resistance of a side lip even in the case where an assembly tolerance during assembly of the oil seal and a slinger, looseness of a revolving shaft at the time of its rotation and motion in its axial direction occur.SOLUTION: This invention relates to an oil seal comprising: a fitting part arranged between a revolving shaft and a housing covering a circumference of the revolving shaft; a main lip contacted with the revolving shaft; and a side lip placed closer to the atmosphere side than the main lip and contacted with a flange part extending in a radial direction of a slinger fitted to the revolving shaft. The side lip has an annular protrusion part contacted with the flange part, the protrusion has an angle α formed between a wall surface of the protrusion facing atmosphere and a contact surface of the flange part larger than an angle β formed between a wall surface of the protrusion facing against equipment and a contact surface of the flange part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
