PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radioactive substance removal method and a radioactive substance removal apparatus which allow for effective removal of radioactive substance in the air that is generated trough removal work of fuel debris or demolition of a structure in a nuclear reactor building.SOLUTION: A radioactive substance removal apparatus 1 includes: capture filters 3, 4 which are installed so as to be submerged in a spent fuel storage pool 24 or a dryer separator pool 25 filled with water and include a watertight housing in which a capturing material capable of capturing the radioactive substance is accommodated; and an exhaust fan 2 which sucks radioactive substance-containing gas in at least one of a reactor pressure vessel 22 and a containment vessel 23, introduces the sucked gas to the capture filters 3, 4, and discharges the gas after passing through the capture filters to the reactor pressure vessel 22 or containment vessel 23, or to a desired region in a nuclear reactor building 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
