PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment method which enables oil content to be efficiently removed from water to be treated containing oil content and polymer thickener.SOLUTION: (1) The water treatment method for removing an oil content from water to be treated containing the oil content and polymer thickener is provided that has: a step of reducing M alkalinity of the water to be treated; a step of adding at least one of polyaluminum chloride and aluminum sulfate to the water to be treated and forming an oil content-containing floc in the water to be treated. (2) The water treatment method is provided as an alternative to the method described in (1), in which initial M alkalinity of the water to be treated is 80 mgCaCO/L or more. (3) The water treatment method is provided as an alternative to the method described in (1) or (2), in which concentration of the polymer thickener contained in the water to be treated is 50 mg/L to 1000 mg/L. (4) The water treatment method is provided as an alternative to the method described in any one of (1)-(3), in which M alkalinity of the water to be treated is reduced by adding acid to the water to be treated. (5) The water treatment method is provided as an alternative to the method described in any one of (1)-(4), in which M alkalinity of the water to be treated is reduced to 70 mgCaCO/L or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
