PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device or an image-capturing device capable of outputting a defocus amount or a subject distance having the gradation characteristic required by an output destination.SOLUTION: The image-capturing device comprises: acquisition means for acquiring the image signal of a plurality of images obtained by capturing the subject image formed by an image-capturing system; determination means for determining the defocus amount of the subject image by using the image signal of the plurality of images; and conversion means, having a plurality of different conversion characteristics needed for grayscale conversion, for converting the defocus amount to a grayscale in accordance with at least one of the plurality of different conversion characteristics before being outputted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
