The present invention relates to an apparatus for separating an oil from water in which an oil and water are conveniently collected and separated. The apparatus according to the present invention includes: a housing placed over a collecting vessel collecting a cutting oil and other oils, in which a space is formed inside the housing, and an inclining hole inclined to the downward direction is formed at one side; a transferring part where a lower part thereof is placed at an inner space of the collecting vessel and an upper part of the transferring part is placed at an inner space of the housing, for receiving a driving power from a driving part while rotating to absorb the oil and water collected in the collecting vessel and to transfer the water to the upper part of the transferring part; a removing member mounted at the inclining hole, in which one side is pressing the transferring part in the housing and an opposite side protrudes out of the housing, thereby removing and discharging the cutting oil and other oils from the transferring part by a friction according to a rotation and a contact of the transferring part; and a separating part installed at the outer surface of the housing and placed at a lower part of the removing member to collect and separate the cutting oil and other oils from the removing member.
