Disclosed are an internet telematics service providing system for providing personalized POI information using various information on a web and a method thereof. The internet telematics service providing system includes: an information of interest generation part for generating information of interest on the basis of information in the internet related with a user and/or information of a telematics system; a route receiving part for receiving a position or a movement route of a vehicle from the telematics system; a point of interest (POI) extraction part which extracts information corresponding to the interested information by referring to the position and/or the movement route of the vehicle in relation to an internet map server; and a POI providing part for providing the POI information to the telematics system. The internet telematics service providing system of the present invention improves navigation quality and convenience.
