PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a resonance mode in a photonic crystal resonator.SOLUTION: In a photonic crystal resonator, a region where a medium part 105 of a resonance part 121 is formed is made thinner than other regions. A groove 106 is provided on the medium part 105 of a base part 101 (photonic crystal 103 surface) side, and thereby the region where the medium part 105 of the resonance part 121 is formed is made thinner than other regions.
