A seat belt buckle mounting structure (TK) is provided with: a buckle bracket (9) extending from a seat belt buckle (7); and a base bracket (8) having a shelf section (8a) to which the buckle bracket (9) is mounted, a leg section (8c) which is located at a distance from the shelf section (8a) in a direction intersecting the direction in which the buckle bracket (9) extends, the leg section (8c) being mounted to a member (6) of a vehicle, and a body section (8b) which connects the leg section (8c) and the shelf section (8a). The body section (8b) has an opening (8b4) formed in the intermediate region (AR2) thereof in the direction connecting the leg section (8c) and the shelf section (8a). Due to the presence of the opening (8b4), the cross-sectional area of the intermediate region (AR2) taken in the width direction is less than that of the region (AR3) of the body section (8b), which is located on the leg section (8c) side, and less than that of the region (AR1) of the body section (8b), which is located on the shelf section (8a) side. |
