The present invention provides a method for processing a graph-based signal using geometric primitives, the method comprising the steps of: specifying geometric primitives used for calculating edge weights; obtaining a parameter for each of the geometric primitives; calculating the edge weight of each of the edges in an image on the basis of the parameters; and encoding the image on the basis of the edge weights.
