Disclosed is a motorised jockey wheel (10). The jockey wheel (10) includes a chassis, an upstanding post (11) connected to the chassis for connection to a towable vehicle and first (12) and second (13) wheels that are spaced apart along the same axis and which are rotatable relative to each other. First and second motors are coupled to respectively to the first and second wheels (12, 13) and drive the first and second wheels (12, 13) to rotate. Also included is a controller for controlling the output of the motors. Power to drive the first and second motors passes through the controller which then adjusts the power based on an input to the controller. The input comes from an operator control that is controlled by an operator of the jockey wheel (10) so that the speed of rotation of the first and second wheels (12, 13) can be varied for driving and steering the jockey wheel (10). |
