Provided is a cable connector that is capable, even if a locking member for maintaining the connection state of a cable is rotationally biased in the locking direction with a small biasing force, of suppressing effectively the risk of the cable being unexpectedly pulled out of an insulator. The cable connector comprises: contacts (45A, 45B) supported by an insulator (20) having a cable insertion groove (21); a locking member (65) rotatable around a rotation axis (74) between a locked position, wherein a locking portion (68) thereof and a lock-on portion (98) of a thin flat cable (93) inserted in the insulator are face-to-face, and an unlocked position, wherein the same are not face-to-face; and biasing means (80) for biasing the locking member toward the locked position. In this cable connector, the inner surface of the cable insertion groove is provided with a reference surface (21a), which is an end surface on the side of the locking portion movement in the direction from the locked position to the unlocked position, and a rotation center (G) for the rotation axis is positioned on the side of said movement in the opposite direction, with the reference surface sandwiched therebetween. |
