The user equipment method for device-to-device communication comprises: upon requiring to perform device-to-device communication with user equipment from a plurality of groups, transmitting a scheduling announcement for each of the plurality of groups, each scheduling announcement identifying resources within which data intended for user equipment belonging to each group is to be transmitted. In this way, the user equipment can be perform device-to-device communications with different groups at the same time. In particular, the user equipment can choose the target groups that it wants to provide the device-to-device data to and is able to perform simultaneous transmissions of that data to those multiple groups. |
