The heat pump-type heating device of the present invention comprises: a tank; a heat pump; a settling determining means; a storage detecting means; a defrost termination estimating means; and a defrost operation execution means. The tank stores a heat medium. The heat pump lets the external air and the refrigerant exchange heat, and heats the heat medium with the heat of the refrigerant. The settling determining means determines if the evaporator is settled or not. The storage detecting means detects high-temperature storage of the heat medium which is made into a predetermined temperature limit value or higher. The defrost termination estimating means supposes that the heat pump will perform the defrost operation, and estimates the high-temperature storage in case of defrost termination, which is the high-temperature storage of the heat medium at the point of time of termination of the defrost operation, based on the high-temperature storage detected by the storage detecting means. The defrost operation execution means lets the heat pump start the defrost operation when it is determined that the evaporator is settled by the settling determining means and when the high-temperature storage at the point of time of defrost termination estimated by the defrost termination estimating means is a predetermined storage limit value or higher.
