The invention relates to a method for producing solid fuel recovered from waste consisting of fibres, which includes: collecting fibre waste from the textile industry, which consists of fibres that are the result of a short-fibre spinning process; removing at least elements foreign to the fibre which are found in said waste, including the separation of at least one fraction of the fibre depending on the products that result from the combustion of said fraction of the fibre; and optionally compacting the treated waste.
