Disclosed are a device and a method to inspect a stick. The device to inspect the stick comprises: a tensioning unit tensioning and fixating the stick with an opening unit; a first inspection unit inspecting a surface of the stick by being separated from the stick; a light dispersion unit arranged on an opposite direction to the first inspection unit based on the stick, reflecting light emitted from the first inspection unit; a distance measuring unit arranged on an opposite side to the stick based on the light dispersion unit, measuring a third distance from a bottom surface to the light dispersion unit; and a control unit calculating a height of a protrusion by calculating a second distance from a starting point of the protrusion of the stick inspected in the first inspection unit to the light dispersion unit, and calculating a difference in distance between the second distance and the third distance and determining a defect of the stick.
