Disclosed is a method for forming a metal part (2) of high hardness, in which the production equipment complexity and manufacturing overhead for the formed part (5) produced from the metal part are reduced significantly without impairment of the high-strength or very high-strength material characteristics of said metal part, by the fact that, in the unformed state, in the area which during forming is under tensile stress, at least one side of the metal part is provided over the full surface and in load-resistant fashion with a cover layer (4) made of a ductile metallic material and the composite part produced in this way is cold-formed in a state in which the metal part is of high hardness. |
