The present invention provides a direct acting rotation actuator which can promote a direct acting output improvement and an axial size reduction. The direct acting rotation actuator (1) comprises: a mover (2) which has an output shaft (21), directly acts in an axial direction (Z) of the output shaft (21), and is rotatably supported in a circumferential direction (&thgr;) of the output shaft (21); and a stator (3) having a direct acting coil (33) to generate a magnetic field for direct action of the mover (2), and a rotation coil (35) to generate a magnetic field to rotate the mover (2). The mover (2) comprises a plurality of permanent magnets (23) and a plurality of yokes (25) alternately arranged in the axial direction (Z). The yokes (25) each comprises a plurality of protruding portions (257) which protrude towards an outer circumference in a radial direction (R), and are separated from each other in the circumferential direction (&thgr;). The protruding portions (257) each comprises a brim portion (259) protruding in both directions of the axial direction (Z) and overlapping the permanent magnets (23) in the radial direction (R). |
