The present invention is to provide an electronic device and a method for processing data in the same, which can prevent a circumstance where an advertisement packet is checked by any electronic device so as to enhance security of the advertisement packet. According to various embodiments of the present invention, the method for processing data in the electronic device comprises: receiving information related to the time when at least one beacon device is registered in a server; and decoding at least one beacon signal received by the beacon device based on the information related to the time when registered in the server.
