PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide solid milk that has a proper solubility and high strength and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: This invention relates to solid milk, wherein in an X-ray diffraction pattern measured with a powder X-ray diffraction apparatus, a surface of solid milk has a main peak of 2&thetas;=10-15° at 2&thetas;=10-11° or at 2&thetas;=12-13°. A method for producing the solid milk comprises a compressing step of compressing powdered milk so as to obtain solid compressed powdered milk; a humidifying step of humidifying the compressed powdered milk obtained through the compressing step; and a drying step of drying the humidified compressed powdered milk obtained through the humidifying step, wherein a part of non-crystallized lactose at the surface 12 of the compressed powdered milk is crystallized in the humidifying step and drying step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
