The present invention is a computer which is connected to an external device via an I/O device, wherein the computer includes a controller that assigns a command identifier to a command issued to the external device. The I/O device has a duplicate detection unit defined by a command identifier subspace that is a subspace of a command identifier space which is a collection of the command identifiers. The duplicate detection unit, while moving the layout of the command identifier subspace within the command identifier space, determines whether the assigned command identifier duplicates another command identifier in use. |
