The present invention relates to a composition for prevention or treatment of urinary tract infection. Particularly, the composition comprises Orthosiphon spicatus extract and Strobilanthes crispa extract. It may further comprise Hibiscus sabdariffa extract. The disclosed composition facilitates heat clearing and detoxification of the body. Besides, it helps to reduce swelling/edema and remove calculi by inducing diuresis. It also promotes the health of kidney and liver. The disclosed composition is substantially free of toxic side effects and requires relatively economical cost of production. Specifically, the disclosed composition is advantageous in inhibiting the formation of uric acid and treating gout while having a better effect in treating urinary tract infection or urinary tract stones with limited toxic side effects. |
