PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxial overshot water wheel capable of receiving water flow immediately after discharging in a horizontal direction.SOLUTION: A biaxial overshot water wheel includes a pair of endless rotors 14 hung between two shafts 16 along a slope 12 of a water channel 11, a plurality of buckets 15 fixed to the rotors, means composed of a fixed or movable weir 22 disposed just at the upstream of a discharge portion for controlling direction/flow rate and water surface shape just before discharging while properly inclining a water channel bottom 11a of the water discharge portion 21 of the water channel, a bottom plate 23 openably disposed on the water channel bottom at the downstream of the weir, and a water shield plate 24 vertically disposed at a rotor side at the downstream of the bottom plate. When power is generated, discharged water flow is introduced to the buckets while controlling the direction/flow rate of the water flow by using the inclination of the water channel and the weir, and when the power is not generated, reverse rotation of the rotors is prevented by the water shield plate vertically disposed at the rotor side while controlling the water surface shape of the water flow by using the weir, and the water flow is introduced to a narrow space between the rotors and the slope from an opened bottom plate part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
