The present invention relates to a water-soluble hydroformylation method. More specifically, the present invention provides a water-soluble hydroformylation method having improved iso-aldehyde selectivity. In the method, a specific water-soluble phosphine ligand is used in a catalyst composition, wherein the specific water-soluble phosphine ligand is different with an existing ligand used in the hydroformylation method generating aldehyde by reacting olefin with CO and hydrogen.
