The present invention relates to a device for obtaining and cutting a covering sheet that can be positioned on a skew surface of an object (1), comprising a sheet cutting machine (4) fitted with a cutting head (5), a data processing unit (3) able to receive data and to control said cutting head (5), a memory storage unit (BDD, 31) comprising full or partial surface data pertaining to said object (1); the device according to the invention further comprises a portable means (2) for capturing data of the photos type, which is connected by a wireless connection to the processing unit (3) and able to capture the data relating to a partial and/or complete surface of the object and transmit them to the processing unit (3), means for comparing the data received against the data stored so as to control the cutting head (5). The invention also covers a method for obtaining and cutting a cover sheet that can be positioned on a skew surface of an object (1) which notably involves recording data of the photos type in a portable means for the capture of said data, transmitting said data to a processing unit (3) comprising a microprocessor (30) which controls a cutting head (5) of a cutting machine (4) so as to obtain an outline for the cutting of the component. |
