A rotary pump comprises a body (101) defining a pumping chamber (115) and having at least one suction opening and at least one exhaust opening. The pump comprises a rotor (102) rotatably mounted inside the pumping chamber and having at least one vane. A first guide (109) is formed in the pump body (101) and is arranged to guide, in use, a first end of the rotor (102). The pump further comprises a lid (106) including a second guide (110) having a guiding hole arranged to cooperate, in use, with a second end of the rotor. The lid (106) is made of a metal sheet having a predetermined thickness. The pump further comprises a cap (111) that is made of a metal sheet having a thickness much smaller than that of the lid, is arranged to seal in fluid-tight manner the guiding hole (110) and is fastened to the lid (106) by means of: high strength adhesives having sealing power, or high strength adhesives having sealing power and interference fit between the cap (111) and the lid (106), or braze welding of the cap (111) to the lid (106). |
