A mobile insect trap comprises a shallow tray containing an adhesive strip (3) is shaped to fit over a mobile telephone such that the mobile telephone may serve as a light source for attracting insects to the trap, the adhesive trip (3) is provided on an upper surface of the tray within an area bounded by a raised lip (1), and the tray includes a downwardly depending peripheral edge (2) on the underside which has cut-away portions on each side such that the tray may straddle the mobile telephone when placed thereupon whilst allowing charging sockets and headphone sockets on the mobile telephone to remain accessible, the tray is preferably formed from plastics materials, and the adhesive strip (3) preferably has a protective layer which is peeled-off to expose the adhesive, the adhesive strip (3) may have a scent which attracts insects.
