1. A multi-variable transmitter, comprising:
a housing; a high impedance piezo-resistive sensor contained with the housing, the sensor being configured to monitor at least one parameter of a fluid during a measurement cycle; a battery pack contained within the housing, the battery providing a source of power; a controller contained within the housing and configured to selectively provide power from the battery pack to the sensor during the measurement cycle; and a radio transmitter configured to transmit measured data to a remote location under control of the controller.
