LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY PANNEL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

The present invention provides a liquid crystal display panel including a dam functioning as a physical and chemical barrier, and a manufacturing method thereof. The liquid crystal display panel can minimize an invasion of an alignment layer into a seal line formation region, thereby minimizing poor adhesion and light leakage caused by a difference in physical properties between a seal line and the alignment layer. The liquid crystal display panel includes: a first substrate; a second substrate facing the first substrate; a liquid crystal layer disposed in a first region between the first substrate and the second substrate; and a dam pattern disposed in a second region between the first substrate and the second substrate and enclosing the circumference of the first region, wherein a contact angle of an uppermost layer to distilled water is 17 to 85°, and an overlayer does not exist on a surface of the uppermost layer.
