The present invention relates to a use of an electromagnetic field which inhibits apoptosis induced by hypoxia or ischemia. More specifically, the present invention relates to a cell protection method for increasing the survival rate of cells by inhibiting the generation of active oxygen species induced in cells in a hypoxia or ischemia state according to the electromagnetic field in a certain condition. The electromagnetic field has a frequency of 5-30 Hz and the intensity of 0.5-1.5 mT.
