A device (10) serves for treating particulate material, and comprises a process chamber (20) for receiving and treating the material. A base (16) has numerous passage openings through which process air (21) can be introduced into the process chamber (20), wherein the passage openings are constructed in such a manner that two radially opposed flows (29, 49) form which meet each other along a circular breakup zone (52) and are deflected upwards. In the breakup zone (52), a treatment medium can be imposed on the material. It is proposed that the breakup zone (52) is bordered not only radially on the inside but also radially on the outside by an elevated wall (54, 56) on the periphery, each of which is at a distance above the base (16). |
