<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent water released from hands, from entering the inside of a body from the periphery of a nozzle. <P>SOLUTION: A hand dryer includes a hand drying chamber 3 opened in an upper part of a casing 1, a plurality of nozzles 4 are arrayed in the front and rear of the hand drying chamber 3 at intervals, both ends of a nozzle 4 are fixed to an air blowing path 2 and the hand drying chamber 3, and the nozzle is made movable from side to side by a reciprocation means 5 therebetween. Therefore, the hand drying chamber 3 and the end of the nozzle 4 are fixed and when air blown out of the nozzle 4 collides with a wall surface opposed to the nozzle 4, of the hand drying chamber 3, unevenness on an inner surface of the hand drying chamber 3 is reduced, and thereby preventing eddying flow and turbulent flow generated upon collision with the wall surface of the hand drying chamber 3.
