<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of an image reading device configured to guide light from a light source to an object with a light guide member and read light from the object with an optical sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The image reading device includes: a light source; a light guide member for guiding light emitted from the light source to irradiate an object; an image forming optical system for reflecting light directed in a first direction from the object in a second direction intersecting the first direction via a reflection surface disposed in the first direction of the object, and converging the light reflected by the reflection surface in the second direction via an emission section arranged in the second direction of the reflection surface, to form an erecting same magnification image of the object in the second direction of the emission section; and an optical sensor disposed in the second direction of the emission section of the image forming optical system to detect the erecting same magnification image formed by the image forming optical system. The light guide member is disposed on the object side of the emission section with respect to the first direction, the light source is disposed in the second direction of the light guide member, and the optical sensor and the light source are mounted on the same board disposed in the second direction of the image forming optical system and the light guide member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
