A system and method for repairing a blade (30) are provided. The system includes an induction heating coil configured for heating a platform (34) and slash face (72) of the blade (30). The induction heating coil extends under the platform (34) and is adjacent to the slash face (72) to provide substantially uniform localized heating to both the platform (34) and slash face (72) of the blade (30). The induction heating coil is configured so that the platform (34) is visible during a repair or welding operation.
