<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a material that can be easily introduced into diet and can prevent and/or improve a hypertension symptom and to provide a composition in a form where the material is industrially effectively used. <P>SOLUTION: A hypotensive agent contains ε-viniferin, plant extracts containing ε-viniferin, and a material of at least one selected from collagen peptide, chicken gristle extracts, thioctic acids and yeast hydrolysates together with these, as active ingredients.
