PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste incinerator and a waste incineration method that can stably perform low air ratio combustion.SOLUTION: A waste incinerator includes: a combustion chamber 2 for burning waste on a grate 5; primary air blowing means for blowing combustion primary air from the lower side of the grate into the combustion chamber 2; and high temperature gas blowing means for blowing high temperature gas downwardly from a ceiling of the combustion chamber 2. The high temperature gas blowing means includes high temperature gas blowing-in ports 13, 15 at two stages comprising a front stage and a rear stage in the incinerator length direction that is the movement direction of the waste on the grate. The high temperature gas blowing means is disposed at a position where high temperature gas is blown from the high temperature gas blowing-in port at the front stage toward a region from a combustion start region A2 to a front part of a main combustion region A3 in the incinerator length direction and where high temperature gas from the high temperature gas blowing-in port at the rear stage is blown toward a region from a rear part of the main combustion region to a front part of a rear combustion region A4 in the incinerator length direction. A flue 12 for discharging gas within the combustion chamber 2 is installed in the middle of the high temperature gas blowing-in port 13 at the front stage and the high temperature gas blowing-in port 15 at the rear stage on the combustion chamber ceiling. |
