PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smelting reduction method of chrome ore, with improved amount of heat from a burner flame to a mixture supplied into a reaction vessel.SOLUTION: Oxidative gas (oxidative gas for smelting) 11 is supplied into a reaction vessel 2 which accommodates molten iron 2 containing carbon source 7. A mixture 13 of chrome ore in particulate form and powder for smelting is supplied into the reaction vessel 2. A fuel is burned with the oxidative gas (oxidative gas for smelting) 11 at the tip of a supply lance 3 for oxidative gas for smelting or at the tip of supply lance 4 for chrome ore so as to form a flame. The chrome ore in particulate form is passed through the flame and supplied into the reaction vessel 2, so as to be reduced. Powder for smelting having a mass ratio of particles with a particle size of 100 μm or less larger than that of the chrome ore is supplied into the reaction vessel 2 from the same supply port together with the chrome ore in particulate form. |
