Provided is an electrical connector having a heat-dissipating effect. A base connector (10) is mounted on a printed board (1p), and a plug (20) having at least a pair of contacts (4a, 4b) for hardwiring feeder cables (21w, 21w) for power is inserted into the base connector. The base connector (10) is provided with the following: a housing (1) having an opening (11) for coupling with a partner housing (2) and a contact accommodation chamber (12) that is hollow and formed together with the opening (11); and a pair of first contacts (3a, 3b) disposed inside of the housing (1) and for electrically connecting the contacts (4a, 4b) and the printed board (1p). The first contacts (3a, 3b) have a connection piece (31) for connecting with the contacts (4a, 4b), and a heat-dissipating piece (32) which is inserted into the housing (1). The bottom surface of the connection piece (31) and of the heat-dissipating piece (32) is joined by soldering to a heat-dissipating pattern (31h) formed on one surface (11p) of the printed board (1p). |
