PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peripheral surface measuring device that can accurately measure peripheral surface shapes of rolling members.SOLUTION: A peripheral surface measuring device comprises a chuck 3 for fixing a rolling member, a spindle 4 enabled to rotate relative to the rolling member, a detector 5 that is fitted to the spindle 4 and measures the rolling surface shape of the rolling member, a distance sensor 6 that is fitted to the spindle 4 and moves in the circumferential direction in a state of opposing the rolling member to measure the distance from the rolling surface of the rolling member, and a controller 8 that so adjusts the position of the chuck 3 as to make the axis of the rolling member and the rotation center axis of the spindle 4 coincide with each other on the basis of the result of measurement by the distance sensor 6. The controller 8 determines that the axis of the rolling member and the rotation center axis of the spindle 4 coincide with each other when a value calculated on the basis of distance data measured by the distance sensor 6 in a plurality of positions differing in the circumferential direction becomes equal to or below a set value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
