PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology to improve operability and convenience for a user in observing an image data set including a plurality of layers on a screen.SOLUTION: An image processing method includes: an instruction information acquisition step of acquiring an operation instruction to change a state where first image data of a first area is displayed to a display of image data of a second area; a thickness information acquisition step of acquiring thickness information indicating a range of existence of a subject in a depth direction; a selection step of selecting, from image data of one or more layers of the second area, second image data that is image data to be used for display after the change on the basis of the thickness information on the subject; and a step of creating and outputting image data for display from the second image data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 |
