PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit turbo rotation speed from becoming overspeed.SOLUTION: A control device for an internal combustion engine includes: a turbocharger for supercharging intake air by exhaust energy; a boost pressure change section B1 that can change boost pressure; and a boost pressure control section B2 for outputting a command value to the boost pressure change section B1 to control the operation. The boost pressure control section B2 includes: a boost pressure command value calculation section B3 for calculating a command value to the boost pressure change section on the basis of target boost pressure; a turbo rotation speed command value calculation section B4 for calculating a command value to the boost pressure change section on the basis of target rotation speed of the turbo rotation speed. During normal operation, the command value calculated by the boost pressure command value calculation section is used. When the turbo rotation speed exceeds an overspeed threshold value, the command value is reduced by using a turbo rotation speed command value (negative value) to suppress overspeed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
