摘要 The electronic device has a display section with a display surface; and a touch panel that is provided while being superimposed on the display section and that can detect an area occupied by an indicator in which the occupied area is on a predetermined plane which is approximately parallel to and spaced apart by a predetermined distance from the display surface of the display section. When flattening of the area occupied by the indicator is smaller than a threshold value in which the occupied area is on the predetermined plane spaced apart from the display surface of the display section by a predetermined distance, coordinates of the center of the area are made valid. When the flattening is greater than the threshold value, the coordinates of the center of the area are made invalid.

An electronic device comprising: a display having a display surface having a predetermined shape; and a touch panel that is superimposed on the display and configured to detect a first width and a second width of an area occupied by an indicator on a predetermined plane, which is approximately parallel to and spaced by a predetermined distance from the display surface, the first width being orthogonal to the second width in the predetermined plane, wherein coordinates of a point corresponding to the area are obtained, a flattening of the area is obtained based on a ratio between the first width and the second width, a threshold value is determined based on the coordinates of the point, such that the threshold value decreases when the coordinates of the point becomes closer to a center of the predetermined shape of the display surface, and the coordinates of the point are taken as valid coordinates when the flattening of the area is smaller than the threshold value.
