PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent performance reduction in a case of the occurrence of a controller failure using a high-speed storage medium, and realize a space-saving capacity of an area used by a storage medium used at a time of the prevention by internally measuring an implementation load and a processing capability of a device and regularly calculating, securing, and releasing a capacity necessary to maintain write caches.SOLUTION: In a disk array device comprising a disk array constituted by a plurality of HDD and a plurality of controllers and duplexing data between an arbitrary pair of controllers, each controller includes a host control unit controlling input/output signals to/from a host; a memory control unit controlling a first memory and a second memory duplexing data with that of the memory at a time of a controller failure; and an HDD control unit controlling input/output signals to/from the disk array, an idle capacity of the first memory being increased/decreased at predetermined time intervals and an idle capacity of the second memory being set.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
