PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mask assembly having a headgear assembly that offers more comfort to the patient yet does not sacrifice functionality.SOLUTION: The headgear assembly maintains a frame and cushion of the respiratory mask assembly in position on a patient's face. The headgear assembly is constructed from a soft, flexible material, and comprises two side portions and a rear portion positioned between the side portions. Each side portion comprises: an upper side strap constructed and arranged to be located above the ear and eye of the patient in use; and a lower side strap constructed and arranged to be located below the ear and eye of the patient in use. The upper side strap and the lower side strap are further constructed and arranged to be connectable to the frame. The rear portion of the headgear is constructed and arranged to engage a lower portion of the occipital bone of the patient's head to prevent upward movement of the headgear assembly in use.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
