PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide outer socks that can provide a more comfortable fit and can be prevented from coming off by dividing the outer sock into portions and by knitting the portions by different methods using a knitting machine for knitting existing socks.SOLUTION: There is provided an outer sock which covers a lower portion of a wearer's foot under his or her ankle, the outer sock comprising: an upper edge section defining an entrance portion for putting the wearer's foot, a rear portion and a part of a lateral portion adjacent to the rear portion knitted by a pattern A (A); a portion forward of the edge section defining entrance for putting the wearer's foot knitted by a pattern B (B); both lateral sides of the edge section defining an entrance portion for putting the wearer's foot knitted by a pattern C (C); a boundary between a portion E (E) surrounding the toe and the pattern B (B) linked together by a knitting and sewing line using a pattern D (D); and the portion surrounding the toe, a sole portion, lateral sides, and a heel portion knitted by a pattern E (E).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
