PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generator having high ion generation efficiency.SOLUTION: The distance R1 between a tip portion 12t of a discharge electrode 12 and a ceiling portion 13c of a counter electrode is constant regardless of positions in the ceiling portion, so that an eclectic field generated between both electrodes is stabilized and thereby ion generation efficiency can be improved. By using a counter electrode having two side wall portions 13b and a ceiling portion 13c, an airflow passing through a region surrounded by these portions can be rectified, and ions having a high concentration can be generated in a rectified airflow.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
