The present invention relates to a method for treating skin diseases and skin conditions in a patient in need thereof which comprises of administering a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of 7-(1H-Imidazol-4-ylmethyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-quinoline, or its individual enantiomers or the tautomers thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

A method for treating a skin condition selected from the group consisting of sunburn, erythema of the skin, and cutaneous hyperactivity with dilation of blood vessels of the skin, the method comprising administering to a patient in need thereof a pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of (S)-(+)-7-(1H-imidazol-4-ylmethyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinoline, or an individual tautomer thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of any of the foregoing.
